On Thursday, June 23rd, 2022, the students of the 5th Course of Management and Direction of ICT and Information Security, who are taking the third edition of the Master’s Degree in ICT Management for Defense (DIRETIC Master’s), visited the Agency’s facilities to a Technological Modernization of Galicia (AMTEGA) accompanied by the lecturers of the CUD-ENM Ms. Milagros Fernández Gavilanes, Mr. Rubén Nocelo López and Mr. Jorge Feijoo Conde.

The AMTEGA integrates human, material and budgetary resources of the technological area of all the ministries and different departmental entities of the Xunta de Galicia under the same direction, managing ICT in an integral way.

Upon arrival at the AMTEGA facilities in the City of Culture (Santiago de Compostela), students and lecturers were welcomed by Mr. José Miguel Gómez Apesteguía and Mr. Miguel Montero, technical managers of AMTEGA, and by the DIRETIC Master’s lecturers, Mr. Fernando Suárez and Mr. Miguel A. Ares. After the welcome, the visit to the facilities began.

The students were able to see first-hand the Integral Data Processing Center located in the Gaiás with an area of 1,275 square meters, which houses 2,500 servers with a storage capacity of 13 petabytes and allows modernizing, rationalizing and homogenizing the provision of different digital services to citizens.

In addition to the visit to the CPD, the students received a talk on the application of agile methodologies focused on the management of large infrastructures such as that of AMTEGA (which supports, among other entities, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance).

At the end of the visit, a commemorative plaque was presented to the representatives of the agency.
