On June 13, 2025, the CUD-ENM received a visit from the Admiral Director of Infrastructure (ADIN), the Hon. Vice Admiral Mr. Antonio González García.
During his visit, the Admiral had the opportunity to meet with the management team of the CUD-ENM, who presented the main features and activities of the Center. Afterwards, the Research Coordinator, Professor Mr. Arturo González Gil, presented the lines of action of the CUD-ENM’s own research incentive program, as well as the main areas of work and projects of its research groups.
Finally, the Admiral was able to learn in more detail about some of these research initiatives, such as the use of non-destructive techniques for the detection and intervention of pathologies in buildings (ASSiST project, presented by Professor Jorge Feijoo Conde), the development of techniques and mechanisms for protection against radon gas and the improvement of energy efficiency in buildings (RnMod and DeepBEM projects, presented by Professor D. Arturo González Gil), the use of improved fluids for solar thermal installations and advanced cooling (NanoEnSol project, presented by Professor D. Javier Pérez Vallejo), the recovery of waste to improve environmental management (ValorizAr project, presented by Professor Dña. Lorena González Gil), or the automatic detection and modeling of undermining in linear transport infrastructures (STRADAR project, presented by Professor D. Norberto Fernández García).
The visit ended with a session in which some conclusions were drawn on possible lines of interest for the Navy’s Infrastructure Directorate, as well as possible ways of collaboration between this organization and the CUD-ENM.
