Professional visit of the DIRETIC Master’s students to the AMTEGA facilities

On Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026, students in the 9th Course on ICT Management and Information Security, who are enrolled in the seventh edition of the Master’s Degree in ICT Management for Defense (DIRETIC Master’s), visited the facilities of the Galician Agency for Technological Modernization (AMTEGA), accompanied by CUD-ENM professor Ms. Isabel Expósito Pérez.

AMTEGA is the agency of the Xunta de Galicia responsible for the strategy and management of information and communication technologies (ICT). It coordinates the digital transformation of Galicia’s public administration and the provision of digital services to citizens, promoting technological innovation, cybersecurity, and the development of the digital society in Galicia.

Upon their arrival at the AMTEGA facilities, located in the City of Culture in Santiago de Compostela, the students and their professor were welcomed by Mr. David Vidal and Mr. Guillermo Carbajal, technical staff from the Systems Department, as well as by Mr. Luís Docampo, a member of the Application Architecture and Quality Department. Mr. Fernando Suárez, a professor in the DIRETIC Master’s program, also participated in the visit.

The students attended a presentation on the infrastructure of AMTEGA’s Comprehensive Data Processing Center (CPDI), which serves more than 2,700 administrative offices. The Systems Department presented the storage, monitoring, and backup systems; the communications infrastructure and its redundancy; as well as the communications and information security systems, in addition to the power and cooling services. The Architecture Department, explained how the nearly 3,000 existing corporate applications are managed and how their integrity is assessed in terms of availability, security, and operational continuity.

After the talk, the students had the opportunity to visit the CPDI itself, where they were able to see firsthand its facilities and the infrastructure that supports the regional government’s digital services.
