Last Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, a group of students of the VII Course of Management and Direction of ICT and Information Security, who are taking the fifth edition of the Master in ICT Management for Defense (Master DIRETIC) visited in Santiago de Compostela the facilities of the Supercomputing Center of Galicia (CESGA) accompanied by the professor of CUD-ENM, Mr. Norberto Fernández García.
Guided by Mr. Fernando Bouzas Sierra, CESGA’s Promotion and Communication Administrator, the students had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Finisterrae III supercomputer and the Qmio> quantum computer, and to learn first-hand about both systems, details about both systems, the communications networks managed by CESGA, auxiliary systems (fire extinction, energy and cooling systems), etc.
After the guided tour of the facilities, the students attended a talk given by Mr. Iago Fernández Llovo, Senior Technician of the Quantum Communications project at CESGA, focused on aspects of computing, encryption and quantum communications, which ended the visit.
